Ana Folguera

About
In her professional practice she focuses on the mediation processes between body, theory and education, researching the connection between images, movement and history. Ana worked as editorial manager of EXIT magazine, which focuses on contemporary photography. She has curated: Alarmas y urgencias. Conmociones (online dance exhibition, Centro Conde Duque, Madrid, 2020), Yo soy texto. Libros de artista y Autobiografía (collective exhibition, Sociedad Cervantina, Madrid, 2015), Elefantes en Madrid. Una arqueología de los que bailan en la ciudad, (Teatro Pradillo, Madrid, 2014), Bailar el tren (La Bacía, Madrid, 2013) and Sobre la inutilidad (Festival Escena Contemporánea, 2011).
Her work has been published in: Art Nexus, EXIT, exit-express, Matador, and she coordinated the educational program in the exhibition Máquinas de vivir. Flamenco y arquitectura en la ocupación y desocupación de espacios in Centro Centro Cibeles (Madrid, 2017). She has collaborated with Centro de Danza Canal (Madrid) in theoretical support and writing texts for various dance companies. She has lectured abroad at seminars such as: Conecta (Etopia. Center for art and Technology, Zaragoza, 2019), Acción de borde (Centex, Valparaíso, Chile, 2017) and will be partaking in Jornadas de Estudio de la Imagen (Centro de Arte 2 de Mayo, Madrid, 2021).
